THE LAM FOUNDATION STRATEGIC PLAN 2026-2030
In 2024, The LAM Foundation Board of Directors initiated a collaborative planning process involving our LAM communities – LAM patients and families, clinicians, researchers, staff, volunteers, and Board members. Over 2025, we will develop a strategic plan to guide our work from 2026 through 2030.
A strategic planning effort helps align our daily actions with our mission and goals. It serves as a valuable accountability tool, ensuring our activities, services, and programs achieve meaningful results. By prioritizing resources effectively and adapting to change, this plan empowers us to make a greater impact. The initiative is being led by Chief Mission Officer and Vice Chair of the Board of Directors Lyndsay Hoy, MD, with support from the Interim Executive Director and future Executive Director, other Board members, and representatives from our LAM communities. Together we aim to align the strategic goals with our updated mission and vision, to reflect our values as an organization and a community. We are working to develop detailed goals, strategies, and tactics that will guide our work over the next five years.
As we celebrate our 30th anniversary, we are embarking on a thoughtful, inclusive, and transparent journey to shape our future. This planning effort ensures sustainability, innovation, and enhanced organizational capacity to drive progress for the next 30 years. We invite you to join us in building a bright future together.

Draft Strategic Goals (2026-2030):

Advancing Women’s Health in Rare Disease
Timeline of Activities:
The Board appointed four subcommittees to engage in a process of research, reflection, and analysis related to its assigned strategic initiative, create sub-goals or objectives under each, and plan the strategies and tactics, needed resources, and assign responsibilities. These details will be discussed at a Strategic Planning Retreat on March 1, 2025, that will include members of the Board and Foundation staff, LAM patients, scientists, and physicians. Post retreat, the subcommittees will set to work from March through the end of May.
This initiative depends on valuable input from our LAM communities and stakeholders, which may include focus groups, surveys, and other information-gathering strategies. Over summer 2025, our strategic planning facilitator, Dr. Marina Holz, will work with Dr. Hoy to incorporate the work of the subcommittees into a draft plan for Board review and for presentation to our LAM communities at the International LAM Science Conference and LAMposium, which will take place September 26-28, 2025, in Kansas City, MO. We will incorporate community feedback and will finalize the 2026-2030 Strategic Plan recommendations to the Board of Directors at their December 2025 meeting for approval, budget allocations, and 2026 tactical work plan.
This website will be updated over 2025 to reflect our progress, and share the Strategic Plan drafts and the final approved version.
